World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a commonly used measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items from a vendor's stock is possible using the item level.
On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full item description, including its ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories about how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine how valuable an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value and sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

However, this isn't the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the region the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.
Another way to change the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items additional damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by adding a name.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in early game runs because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. Full Post should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by five percent. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be costly and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..
The luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has a base success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
